The Quill Shawl
PLEASE NOTE - THIS MR DARCY INCOME WORTHY LISTING HAS BEEN SET UP FOR THOSE WHO HAVE PURCHASED A WOOLCHEMIST ADVENT BOX.
IF YOU WISH TO BUY THE PATTERN FOR A REASONABLE FIVER, PLEASE POP OVER TO MY PAYHIP STORE
The Quill Shawl is inspired by The Woolchemist Regency Romantasy advent box for 2024. Do you want to explore this as a mystery with unexpected colours, or use the gradient numbers option?
It is knit sideways in 24 wedge shaped sections – perfect for a box of 24 20g minis. Each section will take just over half of each mini (with sections 1 and 24 taking slightly more) so you will have leftovers to explore another project and don’t have to worry about running out.
It could also be created in a repeating stripe of 2-12 colours, or in a single colour – your creativity is limitless.
If using 24 mini skeins, these are changed almost invisibly as you knit to create a swirling, generous shawl to wrap around your shoulders after a ball, or perhaps just to read in a window seat at home. It is inspired by the Regency Romantasy motifs of quills, feathers and butterflies.
Written instructions in an easy to follow grid are provided as well as charts – use whichever method you prefer.
NB Images are currently in greyscale to avoid spoiling the surprise for those knitting this as part of their Regency Romantasy Advent Box from The Woolchemist
You will need:
24 20g 4ply minis
OR 2-12 colours, repeating stripes as you wish
3.5mm 80cm needle
4 stitch markers
Tapestry Needle
